The legendary Jameson Hotel in Harare, Zimbabwe became the first hotel owned by the Group in1958. The hotel portfolio in Zimbabwe was expanded in the mid 1960s with

the additionof Cresta Oasis Hotel and the Cresta Churchill Hotel in the 1980s. The Cresta Lodge was commissioned in 1993 hence completing the current portfolio of four

hotels in Zimbabwe. 

In 1987, Cresta Hospitality acquired the Management Contract for the Marakanelo Hotels in Botswana with BDC. The Contract was for four hotels with a total of 247 rooms.

The contract is now for eight hotels with 620 rooms following the construction and commissioning of the Cresta Lodge (Gaborone) and Mowana Safari Lodge in 1993 and 1994 respectively.
